Are there any words that you REALLY like because they sound funny or sophisticated? Are there any words that you strongly dislike for various reasons? Any pet peeves?
I really like the words plethora, nonchalant, and brouhaha because they are fun to say. I do not like the words wheelbarrow and statistics because they are difficult to say. It bothers me when people say flustrated and irregardless because they are NOT words!!! Ugh!
I really like the words excitement, enjoyment, respect, and curious. I like the words excitemnt and enjoyment just because they are linked with happiness and who doesn't like being happy. I like the word respect because it is something you need to show and something everyone wants to have. Curious is just a cool word to me not quite sure why though. I don't like the words gasers, ignorant, and idiot. I don't like the word gasers because it's a terrible form of football conditioning that no one looks forward to. I don't like the word ignorant because no one should be ignorant because everyone can learn and has the chance to learn. I don't like the word idiot just because it makes people feel bad and it just is not necessary. - Tom Pozuc
My favorite word to say is probably lanta. It goes with the saying "Oh my lanta you are my women." I like saying it because I almost always make someone laugh. I try not to over use it because then it loses it comical quality. I dislike the word library because people pronounce it lyberry and it drives me crazy. I don't like your and you're because everyone misspells it in texts which also drives me crazy. And I hate it when people write you with just a "u" you're only shortening it by two letters there's no point. Other than that I'm alright with words.
I like the words guardian, radient, and violence because of how they sound and what they mean. I find farce to be a strange word. I hate when people scape silverware on plates.
I would have to say that my favorite word is probably awesome, I love writing this word and its also part of my everyday vocabulary i also like the words sir, tight, whats up and dude. One of my pet pives is smelling good i hate when people smell bad it grosses me out very badly.
I LOVE TALKING but i only hate words when people i hate use them. For example when use the word like as every other word! it makes me so mad! Also when people are just obnoxious and loud just to be funny. Also i hate it when people talk while others are talking THATS SO RUDE!
I like the word rejoice. I have no idea why I do, it just sounds interesting. I cant stand the word fool. Its very akward to say. I hear it alot and it gets on my nerves. One of my pet peeves is when people are in the car and get road rage. They scream and yell at other cars. Other people cant hear you screaming at them so its really pointless.
I really like words that motivate me like commitment, overcome, determination, things like that. Kind of dramatic things are cool like this. I have a pet peeve if I'm hearing someone talk and they whistle while they are talking i hate it!
I really like the words radiant, sunshine and blizzard because they all have positive connotations for me. I don't like the words cigarette and wreck because they remind me of negative things. My biggest pet peeve is when people refuse to spell out short words in their texts, such as using "ya" for "yeah and "u" for "you". It's really not that difficult to write out the whole word, especially if you have a full keyboard.
Some of my favorite words would have to be blubber, hullabaloo, claptrap, and bosoms. I find these words funny. I will laugh if you say the listed words or just about any other words. I dislike words I don’t know the meaning of because then I have to look it up. I have a pet peeve of slow drivers. Move it or lose it.
I enjoy saying the words "mosey" and "yonder" They are words that people rarely ever use, and it makes the coversation interesting when i say them. I dislike words that are not needed, and just used to make the perosn sound smarter. My pet peeve with words would be when people mis-pronunce them with a Soutern twang. "Saturdee" for example.
Some of my favorite words to say are oblivious, scatter, sorry, and idiot because of the way they sound and their definition's. Idiot is there because I like how it’s said in Japanese which is pronounced "baka". I have sorry there because I tend to say it a lot. I dislike words that are hard to spell for me because it takes longer for me to write them down or say them. The pet peeves I have is that I hate rude Behavior when someone is trying to give out important information, and when people start bragging about certain Stuff over and over agen.
I like the word "nonchalant". I use it a lot when I want to sound sophisticated. I strongly dislike the word "like" because it seems like everyone uses it when they talk. Although, I am guilty of using it when I talk. A major pet peeve for me is when someone uses the same word twice in a sentence.
A word that i love and use a lot is "daddy", i always refer myself as daddy for some reason. Im always saying "daddy likes" when someone has i good idea or im enjoying myself. I big pet peeve of mine is when i see people out on a date and they sit at the same side of the table.
I personally think its fun to say cadaver I don't really know why I just think its a cool word. Blasphemy and heretic are fun to say because they seem to roll off the tongue. Vindictive is a good word, not because it's fun to say but because I believe its a good descriptive word for vengeful or grudging. I never liked the word armistice its a strange word to say. I really hate it when a certain clique or group of people use a word to the point the word becomes owned by the group.
Some words that I like are words that are kind of uncommon in usage that people randomly use. I like the word pretentious and hackneyed because they are spelled nicely and easy to remember. I hate the word crevice or its even worse when someone says crevices... I don't know it just bothers me. Some pet peeves I have are when people are overly neat and they tell me to be more organized because I'm just fine with the mess and the organizing would just be extra busy work.
I like the word plethora as well. i also like the words hither and pinnicle because no one ever uses them. Sometimes i make up words. I hate the word retch because it's disgusting. I hate it when people say like every other word and I hate it when people say "I know, right?" It annoys me. Jenna Kolb
one of my faveret words to say is insain. i like useing the word to say something is cool or crazy. one of my pet peeves is when people are driver and they dont use there turnsingle.
I like the word battlefield because in the song by jordan sparks she sings it and brakes the word up like bat-el-field like right in the begining and i always listen to that part and change it. i also like the word lips, because the word is basicly an L haha i dont know it sound liek you say L forever... words i dont like are smelly.. like just say you smell not you're smelly.... also photograph, because you can just say pic or picture. even photo.. pet peves i have are when people talk about themselfs 24/7 when you go to someone say whats up and they just carry the convo on just about them and you just nod and liek mmhhm. yup. okay its annoying. and also i hate when people say something is annoying and then they go and do it.. like when people say "everyonme is bragging about getting there lisence, like no one cares.." then they come to school and yell " got my lisence i was driving everywhere i love it" and thats all they talk about it all day
Im a large fan of the words wat up and Nike. I like the word Nike because its my favorite brand and i like the way it reads. i like the words wat up because its in my daily vocabulary i use it probably about 15 times in the school hours. i absolutly hate it when people say like after every word they say, expecially when there saying a story. the just keep saying like and i cant stand it.
